From Argentina - with love
This contemporary, elegant collection of pendants is the first range from Argentinean designer Alejandra Salvini to be introduced in the UK.
Alejandra says ‘I was living in Buenos Aires, where I grew up in a creative family, working 9-5 and making jewellery in my spare time. One day I was looking out of the window at the amazing architecture, traditional cafes and bustling streets and something just hit me. I thought of my granddad who used to make beautiful wooden furniture and I decided there and then to give up everything to follow my dream of creating and selling my jewellery.
I worked hard to define the style, but drew on my cultural background, my creativity and my technical knowhow and as they say, the rest is history.’
Using glass as her core material Alejandra has experimented with various techniques to arrive at the finished product. She is currently launching ‘The Divine collection’, a range of hand-made pendants inspired by the exploration of materials and textures that she’s used over the years but with a new and modern twist.
‘I enjoy working with a variety of glass. Each is individual with its own special properties and resulting colours and effects. The combination of techniques is limited only to one's imagination and willingness to experiment.
As well as having a core collection of different styles and colours of pendants I am also able to customise as requested, so each person can have the exact individual style they want or personalise the pendant with a memorable and meaningful message in the back for those special occasions.’
